Practical Solutions for Dealing with Defiant Behaviour
The Annual ECTA Conference for 2005 was held on Saturday 18 June at John Paul College, Daisy Hill, Brisbane. Back by popular demand was Dr Ian Wallace but this time as a Keynote Speaker. Ian conducted two Masterclasses at the 2004 Conference on "Practical Management of ADHD in the Classroom" and all of the evaluation forms indicated that an hour and a half with Ian was not enough. Ian gave the participants so many practical ideas for managing children with ADHD and working with their parents based on his personal experiences as a Consultant Psychologist. His presentation was well paced, entertaining and informative.

Ian has worked successfully with many children with other challenging behaviours over the years and he further extend on this theme in two Masterclasses held throughout the day.

Another Masterclass was presented by Professor Erica McWilliam from QUT on "Coping with Organisational Change". Erica is a well known presenter in this area and has written many informative but humorous books on the subject. There were at least 15 other Workshops to choose from dealing with a range of professional and curriculum issues.

The 2005 Annual ECTA Conference was another very successful professional learning event and the 2004 catering problems were well and truly addressed. Be sure to take a look at the details of this year's conference and get your registrations in as soon as possible.
