Gympie 126 early childhood educators attended
This was an exceptionally successful tour.
Bringing professionals together at the beginning of the year.
Many new members for the region joined (Gympie had 60 new members)
This was an excellent opportunity to hear an international speaker in Gympie.
In this presentation Dr Loretta Giorcelli explored current research findings into the development of resilience in children and teens. She extrapolated from them the critical role of Early Childhood and Primary Professionals in developing healthy self esteem and resilience in children making links to the importance resilience plays in supporting the growth of autonomy and relational skills in children. She drew from her long experience of working with children who fail to thrive as learners both in Australia and overseas schools and clinics.
ECTA Qld sponsored this tour by Professor Loretta Giorcelli who was the keynote speaker at the 2009 ECTA Annual Conference in Brisbane. Loretta is from Sydney and is currently lecturing overseas in Europe and Africa.
Her presentation at the conference (details on attached flyer and below) was such as success that the ECTA State Coordinating committee decided to give regional groups the opportunity to hear Loretta.
