The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) have released the draft Shape Paper for geography for public consultation from 21 June to 27 August 2010. The draft paper is now available for viewing on the ACARA website at www.acara.edu.au.
The draft Shape Paper outlines the direction for the development of the national geography curriculum for years K-12, and following consultation, all feedback will be analysed and used to revise the draft document before it is published as The Shape of the Australian Curriculum: Geography.
The final Shape Paper will be an integral document to guide the next stage of curriculum development for geography.
