Debra Verstege is an early childhood professional with over 25 years experience in early childhood education and care (ECEC) programs. She has directed a Long Day Care Service leading a team who was involved in both the trial of the EYLF and the Educator's Guide. More recently she has returned to a professional support role within Gowrie Queensland and the wider early childhood community. Over the past two years she has been involved in participating and facilitating an Action Research Model of professional development. She believes that this model is one that fits extremely well with implementing early childhood programs that require reflection and ongoing learning to be part of educators pedagogical practice.

Assessment - Who is it for and who does it benefit? In this workshop we delve into how the processes of assessment can be used to benefit educators, children and families whilst promoting learning within each unique early childhood context.
