This workshop will enable participants to experience practical, engaging and simple ways to incorporate digital technologies into their classrooms. Participants will learn about exciting resources, such as robotic equipment and productivity tools, to support the implementation of digital technologies. We will share some of our favourite apps that you could also use in your teaching and learning. You will experience how quick and easy it is to create professional looking movies on your iPad, a great product to share with your parents. You will be sure to collect many new ideas ready for immediate implementation.

Presenters

Rachael Yates teaching at St Peters Lutheran College since 2003 and has been the ICT Facilitator for Prep to Year 7 for the past ten years. With a passion for integrating technology seamlessly into the curriculum, Rachael's major focus is to provide professional development for staff and support the teaching and learning of digital technologies in the classroom. Rachael has over 20 years teaching experience and a Masters of Information Technology in Education.

Kelly McBurnie Prep Coordinator at St Peters Indooroopilly. Kelly has been involved in the educational sector for almost 20 years as a teacher, coordinator and early literacy workshop presenter. In 2013 Kelly received a National Excellence in Teaching Award for innovation and was nominated as Brisbane Person of the Year and 2014 Griffith University's Alumni of the Year with her achievements featured in the 2016 Undergraduate Study Guide. Her classroom was highlighted in Australian Teachers, The Educational Leader, Brisbane Child and on www.woman.com.au. She worked with Professor Frank Crowther in the production of Discovering your pedagogical gift by ACER.
