Age range applicable: Prep – Grade 2
Outline: During the session participants will engage in activities to assist with identifying opportunities for learning, curriculum decision making and how to effectively use the characteristics of ‘Age Appropriate Pedagogies’ in an early Childhood classroom.

PRESENTER

Ellen Brewer has over 25 years of experience including learning support and as a Year 2 Net Key Teacher. In 2018, Ellen returned to teaching Prep fulltime after working for the past two years as a Prep Teacher (0.5) and a Age Appropriate Pedagogy Coach (0.5) in Central Queensland, supporting schools with the introduction and implementation of AAP into the classroom. This dual role has enabled Ellen to have a thorough knowledge of AAP and the characteristics to successfully implement an AAP program, as well as understand the current systemic requirements to deliver the Australian Curriculum.
