OUTLINE:
One of the first things we as adults have some control over, before children even enter a “space” in the physical environment, are its offerings, its play cues, its very feel. Playwork theory has armed Playwork practitioners with numerous ideas, concepts, and practical tools to understand their ability to see beyond the mere physical space and make it something more. This session will discuss some of these key theories and how they can support a practitioner to turn a “space” into a “place”. The incentive? Engagement, play flow, and a whole lot of magic!
