Classrooms today are very different to years gone by. It is apparent that many children are having difficulties coping at school with increased disengagement in all age groups. Add to this a current shortage of allied health professionals to support these children. Conversely, educators have become overwhelmed with the sheer volume of strategies thrown their way.
How do we change this landscape? How do we determine how to apply these strategies effectively and increase engagement with learning?
The Enhancing Learning team has developed a framework that looks at the five essential elements of learning and how the strategies you already have, can be applied most effectively. In this interactive session you will:
● Develop an understanding of the 5 learning switches to Turn On Learning and explore your classroom through this lens.
● Discover key allied health strategies to allow children to communicate, explore, share knowledge, build connections and negotiate outcomes.
● Enhance your capacity to provide an environment where children feel safe, focused, can absorb & connect information and use their body well.
● Commit to creating classrooms that are full of children and adults connecting, conversing, and creating. A world where children can learn with confidence and joy.
