Children spend up to 60% of their time in class using their hands in fine motor activities for learning. But these days many struggle due to a lack of strength and coordination. As an occupational therapist, over a number of years, I have successfully used 20 specific fine motor activities to help young children accelerate their fine motor development. In this webinar, we will watch short activity videos where I play with a 4 and 5 year old. Watch how to build strength and coordination, develop good pencil grasp, enjoy colouring-in, teach basic scissor skills while integrating early learning concepts.
I work on the Sunshine Coast and online as an OT and school readiness consultant. I have a master’s in occupational therapy and have conducted research on perceptual motor and fine motor programs. I have a special interest in school readiness and how to effectively prepare young children’s bodies and minds for su ccess at school. I enjoy sharing my knowledge in a user friendly and creati ve way with educators, teachers, and parents. I have conducted many workshops in Australia and overseas, and my Fantastic Fingers resources are
used in over 30 countries.
