OUTLINE:
The National Quality Standard (NQS) is the benchmark for quality in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) within Australia and makes up a centre’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). A QIP must include an assessment of the programs and practices at the service against the National Quality Standard and National Regulations. identify areas for improvement, include a statement about the service’s philosophy but the rest is up to you. The design, how you write a QIP and who writes the QIP comes down to each individual centre. Small problem, you were never told how or really taught enough about what each Quality Area entails.
